Questions?

  • What makes Rush Soccer different?

Rush Soccer is the largest soccer club in the world. As a Rush member, you are a part of an international soccer community committed to providing an unparalleled soccer experience for all who have an interest in the game.

Rush Soccer promotes the development of character, the electricity of competition, and the importance of pure enjoyment. We believe that all players should maximize their full potential and participate in challenging circumstances that will yield positive outcomes. We are committed to making soccer a competitive, safe, and rewarding experience for everyone involved, regardless of age or ability.

Through quality coaching, sound leadership, and absolute sincerity, we will work to be the best soccer club for our players.

  • Do I need to tryout to join Hawaii Rush Soccer Club?

Hawaii Rush Soccer Club accepts players all year long. Any player who is interested in joining can do so at any time. Players are invited to train with a team in their respective age group to determine the best developmental placement for them. Players who are currently registered with a HYSA team in the state of Hawaii will need written consent from their coach to join our training sessions.

Please fill out the contact form on the GET STARTED page and we will connect you with the appropriate coach so you can begin this process.

  • Where does the club train and what is the training schedule?

Hawaii Rush soccer teams train in three primary locations:

We also have a few teams that train at select locations in the Kaneohe area and in town.

All teams train a minimum of 2 days per week; some train 3 days per week. This is totally dependant on the coaching staff for your age group, and if you are training at the East, West, or the Mililani location.

Your head coach or team manager will give you more information about your training location and training schedule when you contact us on the GET STARTED page.

  • Where are the games played?

All club matches are played at the WAIPIO PENINSULA SOCCER PARK in Waipahu, HI. This soccer-only complex sports 22 grass fields, a beautiful grass soccer stadium with lights for night games, and ample parking.

  • What leagues does Hawaii Rush play in, and when are the seasons?

Hawaii Rush Soccer Club competes in the Oahu League (HYSA) and MISO league (US Club). The seasons breakdown roughly as follows:

    • Fall Season - September through November
    • Winter Season - December through February
    • Spring Season - April through May

There are variations to the schedule between age groups and between leagues, however, these are the basic season timeframes.

  • What type of commitment do I need to make to Competitive Soccer?

We play in competitive leagues and the spot your child takes on a team is often a spot denied to another child. Additionally, soccer is a full-season sport and we expect a full-season commitment.

For this reason, while we understand that unexpected and sometimes unavoidable conflicts do arise, we expect players to attend at least 2 training sessions per week, all competitive matches, and play for the entire season, per your coach's plans.

  • Is my player required to travel if their team is traveling?

Hawaii Rush Soccer Club is committed to providing a complete soccer experience for all our players. Traveling to the mainland for tournaments is a part of that experience...if numbers and player availability allow.

Players who compete on the most competitive team in their age group are expected to travel with their team to mainland tournaments, with the exception of players on the Rush Select and Rush National Teams who may have travel conflicts. Your coach will lay out their travel expectations at the beginning of the season and the estimated cost associated with travel.

  • When is "open registration" and what does that mean?

Open registration begins on June 1st of every year (unless otherwise adjusted by HYSA). This is when all the players in the club soccer system are released from their clubs and are able to freely change clubs or register with the same soccer club again. You can register with a soccer club at any time after June 1st of every year.

Until you register with a soccer club, your child cannot participate in any HYSA sanctioned events, tournaments, camps, or league play. In order to participate in club soccer, your child must register with a soccer club so that they are insured and meet all the Association requirements to participate.

  • How do I transfer my child to Hawaii Rush?

During the open registration period, which starts on June 1st of every year, you are free to register with Hawaii Rush Soccer Club. There is no need to transfer.

If you are joining Hawaii Rush at any time other than during open registration, you must have your club release you by signing the PLAYER STATUS FORM. If you need any assistance with this process please contact us on the GET STARTED page and let us know you are transferring from another club. We will gladly assist you.

  • Are there discounts or special assistance available to help cover the registration fees?

Absolutely! Our multi-child discount gives $50 off to each additional child in a household after the oldest child pays the standard registration fee for their division.

Financial assistance is available for those who qualify. If interested please contact your head coach or team manager.

  • Do you have a refund policy?

Yes. Hawaii Rush Soccer Club's player refund policy is: If a player, for medical reasons, cannot complete the remainder of the season, a prorated amount of the variable fee will be refunded upon request. Written Technical Documentation setting forth the medical reason(s) must be provided to the Hawaii Rush Soccer Club by a medical practitioner prior to the refund. A full refund is due if a player is not placed on a team.

Also, if your family relocates off of the island of Oahu you will receive a prorated refund for the remainder of the season you will miss.

There are no refunds given for any other reason.

  • What does the "U" mean when referring to an age group?

The “U” stands for "Under". For example: U10 technically means "Under 10 years old". In the United States, teams are grouped by birth year, so U10 refers to players who are 10 years old and younger. Players can play up in age but cannot play down.

To see what age group you fall under please see our AGE GROUP CHART.
